Somewhere Out There
Somewhere out there, beneath the pale moon light
Someone's thinking of me and loving me tonight
It
was not the first time Mac had to spend a night without
Harm, and it
wouldn't be the last time. Her cheek was resting against
the window glass and she looked outside into the dark.
Her thoughts were with Harm. Where was he right at this
moment? What was he doing? Was he thinking about her as
well? Or had he forgotten that back in Washington DC
someone was waiting for him?
He was thinking about her, she was sure about this. And
he was loving her, there was no doubt about this. Maybe,
right at this moment, he was staring up at the moon like
she did, thinking about the one person that mattered more
to them than anyting or anyone else in this world.
Somewhere out there, someone is saying a prayer
That we'll find one another in that big somewhere out there
The moon light
feel into little AJ Roberts' nursery. His mother was rocking him softly in his arms, trying to get him back to
sleep.
As she passed the window, her eyes fell on the moon
watching over them. She stopped and looked down at her
baby boy.
Somewhere out there, his godfather was serving on a ship.
He had made his dream come true, but in return had
destroyed so many other dreams. A lot of people were
missing him, most of all his partner.
She had seen the tears Mac had shed over his announcement
to leave. How could he have been so blind not to see how
deeply she cared for him, that she was in love with him.
Praying, that soon those two were finally reunited, she
turned to the crib in the corner of the room and put her baby son
to sleep.
And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing on the same bright star
Mac placed
her palm on the window, still starring outside into the night. How much she wished that Harm would come back to
her, gather her into his strong arms. Hold her close to
him, and whisper 'I love you' in her ear.
A smile appeared on Mac's face when a star began to
sparkle bright out there. Now she knew that somewhere out
there someone had heard her. Maybe it even was Harm,
having the same wish.
And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we are sleeping underneath the same big sky
Harm was
out on the fan deck and stood at the railing. His hair was
blowing in the wind as he leaned over to look up at the
moon.
Closing his eyes, he could only imagine where his love
was, what she was doing. She was probably fast asleep by
now, dreaming about him.
For some time, he just stood there and wondered if she
knew how much he loved her. Was she thinking about him at
all? Was she longing for him as much as he longed for
her?
Was she missing his comfort like he missed hers? Was she
missing his smile like he missed hers? Was she missing
him at all?
When he opened his eyes, the moon was still watching over
him - the same moon that was watching over Mac back in
Washington DC - and a bright twinkling star was sparkling
down at him.
A smile appeared on Harm's face. Mac was missing him, as
terribly as he missed her. A twinkling star was all he needed to
tell him.
Somewhere out there if love can see us through
Then we'll be together,
Somewhere out there,
Out where dreams come true
